York Bridge Concepts is committed to designing the proper bridge for your individual crossing. YBC offers three span types that can be modified depending on the terrain, budget, and aesthetic requirements for your project.
PILE – SUPPORTED
Pile-Supported structures are supported by timber piling at regular intervals (typically 10 to 16 feet on center). A Pile-Supported structure can be built to any length and virtually any height.
FREESPAN
Glu-lam Freespan Glu-lam bridges can typically span 30’ to 80’ and up to 110’. This makes a Glu-lam Freespan the ideal choice for road overpasses, bridging steep ravines and creating a crossing where pile foundations would be prohibited are a few examples of situations where a glu-lam span may be recommended for you.
Timber Freespan
Timber Freespan bridges can freespan up to 30 feet. A Timber Freespan is generally used to span a creek or other relatively small crossings. Timber Freespans are both a cost effective solution and a great alternative to unattractive culverts.
COMBINATION - PILE SUPPORTED / FREESPAN
Combining Pile-Supported and Freespan sections to create your unique crossing may be an effective solution for you. Your YBC Sales Rep can review your site to recommend the length, location and number of freespan sections that will be combined with pile supported sections to create the best solution for your project.
