York Bridge Concepts™ has completed construction just south of Boston at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. This private, liberal arts college is located on the original estate of Frederick Lothrop Ames and boasts structures that embrace the Georgian-style of the original Ames mansion. YBC was called in to create a pedestrian boardwalk/bridge using deck level construction that combines a pile supported design with a free span design — two designs in one, making a Decero™ combination span bridge. In addition to building from the deck level YBC began construction of the bridge from the middle and worked their way out, rather than from either of the ends, in order to create less disturbance to the surrounding area when placing the middle span of the bridge. This bridge is 10 feet wide and 270 feet in length, with a 50 foot free span in the middle.
