The Whitney Wharf Pedestrian Bridge serves as a welcoming connection between some of Hingham Harbor's most cherished waterfront destinations. Designed through York Bridge Concepts' Decero™ Design-Engineer-Build process and constructed to meet full ADA accessibility requirements, this timber pedestrian bridge combines functionality, durability, and coastal character.
Spanning 92 feet in length and 12 feet in width, the bridge creates a safe and attractive pathway connecting the bathing beach, boat ramp, Town Pier area, Veteran's Memorial Park, and the Hingham Maritime Center at Barnes Wharf. Its elevated design allows the structure to gracefully traverse the harbor environment while preserving the site's waterfront atmosphere.
The bridge was carefully designed to enhance the authentic wharf aesthetic of the surrounding maritime district. Floating above the water with a light and elegant appearance, the structure contributes both visual appeal and practical accessibility to this grant-funded community improvement project.
Visitors and residents alike can enjoy panoramic harbor views while walking between key destinations along Hingham's historic waterfront.
