HOW DO WE BUILD A TIMBER BRIDGE?
BRIDGE BUILDING PROCESS – Driving timber pile (augering, drilling), constructing abutments & pile bents, constructing spans utilizing stringers, blocking, & diaphragms, laying vehicular & pedestrian deck, raising vehicular guard rails & handrails, and painting & finishing.
BRIDGE MATERIALS – Southern Yellow Pine & Douglas Fir Wood, Glue Laminated Beams, Rough Sawn Heavy Timber, Composite, Hardwood Deck Material, Acrylic Polymer Coating, Translucent Oil Coating
SKILL YOU NEED TO BUILD A TIMBER BRIDGE (we’re looking for all levels of experience!):
LABORER – Heavy equipment operation (skid steer & forklift) | Basic use of common carpentry hand tools | Excellent painting, pressure washing and sanding skills | Accuracy in cutting, drilling, & assembling the structure (heavy timber/wood framing) | Organization, clean up, and inventory
CARPENTER – All of the above plus | Assisting in pile driving (spotting the pile driver for accurate placement) | Proficiency with chainsaw, impacts, drills, &circular saw & other power tools for cutting heavy timber | Can read & understand drawings / blueprints & lumber take offs
LEADMAN – All of the above plus) | Highly proficiency with all tools listed above | Basic pile driving, augering, and drilling experience | Excavator operation | Can give direction & has strong leadership skills

SKILLS YOU NEED FOR A TIMBER BRIDGE CARPENTER:
Accuracy in measuring, laying out, and assembling heavy timber framing
Confident use of with hand tools, saws (circular, beam, chainsaw), drills (impact, right angle), and other basic carpentry power tools (sander, planer, router, etc)
Heavy equipment operator (skid steer, telehandler, excavator) experience
Knowledge of pile installation (vibratory hammer)
Painting, pressure washing and sanding skills
Safety-minded, organized, and team player
Ability to read & follow blueprints precisely
Skill in interacting with clients and reporting to supervisor
*Valid DL, DOT, and/or CDL Class A License is preferred, but not required. Due to the nature of travelling, strong candidates will have the ability to drive the company truck and pull a large trailer.
EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
Hourly wage beginning at $18/hr based on experience
$30 per day untaxed per diem
Overtime (scheduled up to 54 hour work week)
17 +/- Paid holidays per year plus accrued PTO (90-day probationary period applies)
