Elyson Project Overview
This unique pedestrian bridge for a Newland master planned community, was an early collaboration between York Bridge Concepts and the designers working on Newland’s behalf. The team at Newland knew that they wanted to use York Bridge Concepts for a landmark bridge design that all residents and visitors would see from the entrance of the community. The bridge was designed with several custom components, such as the trellis feature, intended to compliment the other trellised amenities within the neighborhood. The beautiful, stained wood on the trellis was achieved with our oil based coating process, applied to the treated southern yellow pine timber. Additionally, the reinforced polymeric lumber decking will assist with ensuring this bridge can withstand the tough Houston environment and be a long lasting structure. Crisp lines and sharp detail on this bridge go to show the precise craftsmanship that went into both the design and construction. Whether it’s for residents walking to their yoga class, kids riding their bikes around the neighborhood after school, or someone looking for a quaint spot to take in their surroundings, we are excited to see this bridge come to life with activity as the Elyson community grows.
